Basic performance characteristics
Work gloves with coatings of different materials on the palms and fingers (nitrile, latex, neoprene, polyvinyl chloride, vinyl) today are very widely used in various types of work both in production and in everyday life. Rubber gloves are an integral attribute of personal protective equipment
If we list the possible areas of application of rubber gloves: confectionery, meaoperarabrativayuschee, mining, metalworking, coal mining, automotive, agriculture, housing, construction, medicine, oil and gas production, etc. kind of industry wherever you use work gloves.
The main reason for the popularity of work gloves are their noticeable benefits for humans:
Work gloves are knitted in bulk from high-quality cotton or synthetic yarn, the totality of the properties of which allow you to perform functions to protect your hands from abrasions, dirt, punctures and cuts;
Rubber gloves do not hinder the movement of the fingers, which in turn is necessary for many types of precise work in many industries;
Cotton yarn is the most basic raw material in the production of cotton working gloves wholesale, in turn, this raw material has excellent absorbency, which in turn does not interfere with air exchange and allows the hands to "breathe";
Terms of proper storage of work gloves on both cotton and synthetic basis is not limited. In turn, if the rubber gloves use an additional PVC coating, latex or nitrite, the shelf life of such rubber gloves is from three to five years, depending on the material.
If we consider the use of work gloves in bulk in different production needs, we can safely say that work gloves are indispensable at the risk of damage (mechanical, chemical or thermal) of the skin of the hands.
The criteria by which rubber gloves are classified, include the use of these gloves in different types of production processes.
Types, types of workers' gloves
Ordinary work gloves on a cotton or synthetic basis without the use of any protective materials;
PVC work gloves (PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, it is applied to the work surface of the glove in the form of dots, diamonds, waves, stars, crowns or absolutely any type and complexity of the pattern), as well as PVC coating is needed not only as additional abrasion protection but also as providing the maximum coupling with slippery objects and, as a consequence, additional convenience at work;
Latex-coated rubber gloves, which are characterized as better grip on various objects. Natural latex, at the same time possesses also water-repellent properties thanks to what the scope of application of rubber gloves considerably expands. They also have another name - glazier's gloves.
Work gloves wholesale semi-woolen, roe deer are used to protect hands from various types of mechanical influences in the winter. Used material - wool allows you to keep your hands warm, making work comfortable even at sub-zero temperatures.
Work gloves wholesale, what you need to know when choosing a protective coating.
It should be noted that the choice of work gloves should be taken very seriously and thoughtfully, because for each type of work suitable gloves with their own type of protective coating. Of course, over time, each supplier by sorting, testing and analyzing the properties of work gloves, comes to understand what is needed for his particular case. However, our company Overalls-2010 has set itself the task to help reduce testing time, reduce costs and, most importantly, to choose the best in terms of hand protection type of knitted gloves.
We will talk about properties of various pouring and coverings, kinds, advantages below.
1. Protective coating of polyvinyl chloride or PVC. It is the most popular and in demand among most businesses. There are a number of reasons for this, including:
- low cost of knitted work gloves;
- higher wear resistance in comparison with hb gloves without a protective covering;
- good indicators of protection against mechanical influences (this factor is directly affected by
- the quality of the yarn and the weight of the gloves);
- the ability to perform accurate work;
- a wide range of PVC work gloves.
But, of course, these work gloves are not suitable for all areas of activity. After all, there are works that require more reliable protection of hands from mechanical impacts, friction, slipping. So, let's move on to the next type of coverage.
2. Protective latex coating. Rubber gloves with this protective coating are produced exclusively by dousing, ie the whole palm and fingers are covered with a special composition.
What kind of latex material is this?
Latex is a natural or artificial substance based on natural rubber or synthetic aqueous dispersions.
Latex, being by nature elastic, gives the protective coating flexibility and slip resistance. Gloves with a protective coating of latex for these properties are often called "vampire".
There are three types of gloves with this protective coating:
- work gloves with a single latex coating;
- work gloves with a double latex covering;
- work gloves with the foamed latex covering.
Now for more details on each species:
A single coating of latex gives the gloves increased slip resistance. Moreover, the properties of the material provide comfortable work in any weather. Latex does not get wet by nature and, accordingly, does not pass moisture. This property, along with the ability to perform precise production work, makes them indispensable in the furniture industry.
Double latex coated gloves are the choice of most companies that perform production work with glass and metal. How are they different from the previous type? An additional layer of latex makes work gloves stronger, and thus more reliably protects hands from cuts.
The most reliable kind, unambiguously, are gloves with a relief foamed covering from latex. In the manufacture of these gloves, natural rubber-based latex is used. The relief covering allows to protect reliably hands from a cut by sharp objects.
How to make working gloves.
The most important and key link in the chain of production of cotton gloves is, of course, raw materials. The main groups of raw materials are: cotton yarn, polyester yarn, latex and plastisol. Let's talk about them in more detail.
Cotton yarn is a natural thread (harvested in the fields), twisted from cotton fiber into spools of a certain length. In the manufacture of work gloves to give them increased abrasion properties, and hence to increase their protective functions, use a combination of cotton yarn. Manufacturers of rubber gloves usually use the following composition of this yarn: cotton yarn with the addition of synthetic polyester yarn. The percentage of manufacturers may be different, as they say, who chooses (the more in the combined yarn of polyester yarn, the cost of working gloves in bulk less). However, we should not forget that the quality of the glove and its protective properties depend on the correct balance of these components, and this is the ratio: 80-90% hb yarn, 10-20% p / e thread. Materials such as latex and PVC-based plastisol give the glove additional properties for protection against cuts and abrasion.
At the moment it's time to talk about the production cycle. Yarn, evenly wound on spools, is installed on special knitting machines. Usually 4-5 such bobbins are used at the same time (three-four from cotton yarn and one from elastic). Before the yarn threads get into the working area of the machine, it is treated with a special solution of oil so that it does not tear at the beginning of the production of gloves. Due to modern equipment, the production of gloves is not as difficult as it was before, because its readiness can be easily monitored on the screen. It really allows you to minimize human labor. So in the knitting shops of manufacturers servicing 20-25 machines (the picture on the left shows a knitting machine with computer control) is one employee, and this is the production of about 5,000 pairs of work gloves per day! Currently, these machines can produce work gloves 7, 10, 13, 15 and 18 classes of knitting. However, running are 7, 10 and 13 classes of knitting.
After the knitting machine finishes knitting gloves from the knitting shop, they enter the shop, where the edge of the cuff is fixed with an overlock glove. To do this, usually use a latex thread that tightens the cuff, not allowing it to loosen.
The penultimate stage is the coating of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). For these purposes, use PVC plastisol or latex. On a special conveyor, called the line for applying PVC (hereinafter - the line), the manufacturer puts on knitted gloves on the feet. After the gloves fall into the working compartment of the line, called a "stencil", where a special roller is applied PVC coating. Depending on the type of "stencil", the protective coating can be in the form of dots, waves, stripes and any other shape. It is at this stage that the logos of companies with similar requests are addressed to the manufacturer of knitted gloves. Then the gloves enter the oven, where under the influence of temperatures over 300 degrees Celsius PVC coating is blown away, but does not melt. To prevent it from falling, at the end of the production cycle on the line is a hose from which cold air comes. Blown with cold air knitted PVC gloves are ready for use.
The final stage is packaging. Ready-made rubber gloves come in bulk to the packaging shop, where they are packed in plastic bags, after which anyone can buy work gloves to protect their hands from various external factors.
How to certify working gloves for wholesale.
The first stage is the conduct of certification tests during which samples are taken for each of the types of rubber gloves. Data on selected products are measured and entered into the document. These primarily include: the density of the knitting gloves (for example: 7 loops per inch-7 class), the thickness of the thread (cotton or semi-wool), as well as the type of protective coating (it can be PVC plastisol or a special composition of latex). Additionally, the method of processing the edge of the cuff, namely:
- the cuff may not be machined;
- the cuff is processed only by overlock;
- the cuff is treated with polyester thread with the addition of a strong rubber band inside the
- cuff, which allows you to better secure the glove on your hand.
At the first stage, the laboratory staff analyzes the yarn. Data on its composition are also included in the selection act.
The second stage is testing. It should be emphasized that the testing laboratory is conducted on the basis of a specialized GOST, which regulates the requirements for quality control of PPE hands.
The first thing the lab staff does is check the appearance of the product. Ordinary and banal, at first glance, the test may end for the manufacturer of the rubber glove with negative test reports. This stage is, in fact, very important. During the organoleptic inspection, specialists must make sure that the declared samples do not have through breaks, darning no more than one and a half square centimeters, and that the difference in the length of a pair of gloves is less than one centimeter long and less than seven millimeters wide.
This is followed by the measured length of the rubber glove, its width and the length of the thumb files. The obtained results are compared with GOST data (they must be of a certain size - no more and no less). The data are entered into the test table.
The tests of work gloves begin with stretching the wristbands. The value of their allowable stretching, as well as other tests is strictly regulated.
Tests on resistance to a cut and irreversible deformation of wristbands look important, from the operational point of view. Thus, the results of the first will show how well the hands are protected from mechanical impacts by sharp edges of objects, and the second - will not fly or gloves off the hands when performing complex / dangerous work.
If we talk about the test for abrasion resistance, its results will tell about such a parameter of gloves as wear resistance. The higher this value, the longer the rubber gloves will be usable.
At the end of the tests, the accredited laboratory fills in the necessary protocols, on the basis of which a certificate of conformity is issued.
ATTENTION: Remember that it is worth buying only those work gloves whose quality is laboratory confirmed!
Rubber work gloves - dictionary of the procurement department
Knitting class: the structure of the knitting machine, namely how many needles rasagolagaetsya per inch of bed. Accordingly, 7th grade knitting - 7 needles, which produce 7 loops, 10th grade - 10, etc. The higher the knitting class, the greater the density of work gloves. However, it should not be forgotten that as the density of the work glove increases, its thickness decreases
