Safety shoes are an essential element of foot protection in production. Depending on the field of activity, work shoes are equipped with certain properties and protective elements.
Anti-puncture insole - located between the inner layer of the shoe and the anatomical insole, protects the foot from cuts, punctures and other mechanical damage.
There are several types of anti-puncture insoles:
- Anti-puncture metal insole (most often made of specially treated steel, less often - aluminum).
- Kevlar thread-based insole (composite).
The metal insoles are of good quality and low price. But it is worth noting that they have high thermal conductivity, and this excludes their use at high and low temperature conditions.
The composite insole has the same protective properties as the metal, but the composite insole is the lightest and most flexible, has high thermal insulation properties. The disadvantages include the high cost of production.
Reflective inserts - enhance visibility in poorly lit areas. It is also worth noting that the inserts can be of any color, even black.
The toe cap is a solid insert in the forefoot that can withstand impact forces up to 200 J and squeeze forces up to 15 kN. There are two types of impact resistant toe caps: metal and composite.
Rubberized toe cap - Provides additional protection against abrasion.
